With a passion for medicine and desire to contribute to the community by educating and caring for patients, Dr. George Marks entered the medical profession 37 years ago. He is a renowned cardiologist who has spent the past 30 years working at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Multi-Service Ambulatory Care Center.
Dr. Marks is known throughout the medical community for his strong knowledge and experience in cardiac electrophysiology, as well as his dedication to patient care. In his current role, Dr. Marks manages the critical care unit and outpatient clinic, and consults on inpatient services. He works closely with patients to make sure they understand procedures and the necessary steps involved in achieving optimum health. Looking toward the future, Dr. Marks intends to continue delivering the best care and education to his patients and become more involved in community outreach programs. He is also on the lookout for research opportunities.
Dr. Marks earned a Bachelor of Science in biology at Trinity College and an MD at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his medical residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School and a fellowship in cardiology at Martin Luther King, Jr. Hospital. To keep abreast of changes in his field, he is affiliated with the Association of Black Cardiologists, Inc., Gay and Lesbian Medical Association, and American Medical Association.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Marks is dedicated to utilizing his expertise and knowledge to educate the community on health issues. He is the program commission for HIV AIDS Ministry at the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, and volunteers with Project New Hope.
