Dr. Murfin specializes in functional integrative medicine, which is a healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person, body, mind, and spirit, emphasizing the therapeutic relationship between physician and patient. As the medical director of the practice, she is tasked with serving as a functional integrative physician, practicing integrative medicine, giving her patients a full range of healing options with a focus on healthy living, nutrition, and disease prevention, managing eight staff members, seeing patients daily, dispensing pharmaceuticals, doing specialized testing, and dealing with regenerative medicine.
Dr. Murfin’s practice is cutting-edge. It uses the latest and most advanced technology — from customized genetic testing to environmental testing — to discover the underlying causes of illness and allow the body to heal from within. She likes to take an innovative approach to looking at the human body and what can go wrong.
Dr. Murfin is dedicated to staying up-to-date with genmomics and continues to educate herself in order to better serve her patients. She is board certified in anti-aging regenerative medicine and in family medicine, and is pursuing a certification in functional medicine. Dr. Murfin is also pursuing a Master of Science in nutrition and metabolic medicine at Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida. She already holds an MD and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Cape Town. Dr. Murfin is affiliated with the Institute for Functional Medicine and American College for Advancement in Medicine, and is an advanced fellow of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
