Denise Blevins believes in eliminating child abuse and mistreatment from the world, which is why she dedicated 29 years to the family development services industry. She started her career as a social worker for the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare and gained a strong reputation for her compassion and experience in juvenile justice and foster parent recruitment.
In her pervious role with Latah County’s Youth Services Department, Ms. Blevins was responsible for conducting background checks and home-study programs, and verifying the eligibility of potential foster parents. She took great pride in ensuring that children found safe homes and enjoyed working with diverse groups of people. For her exceptional work, Ms. Blevins was named Line Worker of the Year by the Idaho Juvenile Justice Association in 1994 and 2009.
Ms. Blevins earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology at the University of Idaho and is the chairwoman of the grants committee for the Idaho Juvenile Justice Commission, and chairwoman of the ethics committee for the Idaho Juvenile Justice Commission. She is also a member of the IJJA and IJJC.
