Carl Hjort Baekby is a well-known freight forwarding agent with more than 20 years of experience. He first got a taste for the industry in the sixth grade when he received training. Mr. Baekby realized he enjoyed the work and made the decision to pursue a career in the field.
Throughout his career, Mr. Baekby worked for prominent Danish companies and established himself as a leader in the field. He is recognized for his ability to develop business with international agencies, and is responsible for working as the daily manager of the office, handling matters with development agency networks across the globe, and overseeing the staff, as well as financial responsibilities. Mr. Baekby also serves as the owner and manager of Scandinavian Trophy Transport A/S, which provides worldwide services to clients, and is the managing director of Martin Shipping A/S.
Prior to attaining his current role, Mr. Baekby worked for DFDS Transport as the import manager USA, Scan Shipping as the import line manager, Scan Consol ApS as the freight forwarder, and Sterling Fright Systems A/S as the branch manager. He was also the branch manager Aarhus and development manager of Denmark at Blue Water Shipping A/S. His vast experience exposed him to all facets of the industry and Mr. Baekby became well versed in customs regulations, importing, exporting, transportation and international shipping.
Mr. Baekby attributes his success to his great background and his original trainer, who is a guru in the field. He also attributes it to the quality of work he does, his work on a lean basis and his ability to find the right solution the first time around. Looking toward the future, he plans for Nordic Freight ApS to be one of the first companies to give clients the opportunity to go online and purchase freight rates; he hopes that it will be the best online.
