Marlies White got involved with neutraceuticals because she was inspired to help her brother-in-law, who became very ill, and eventually succumbed to his illness. She wanted to see if there were something she could do, so she asked her husband to formulate some products for better health for others, and that was how the idea for the company came about. Younique is a health and wellness company that provides a variety of products for anti-aging, sports management, brain health and general wellness, and pet wellness. The company also sells natural, mineral based cosmetics featuring the number 1 best-seller, 3-D Moonstruck lash mascara.
Ms. White takes great pride in the success her company has achieved over the years. The home-based business originated in the basement of her home and has expanded exponentially within the last 16 years. To ensure its success, Ms. White serves as the intermediary between customers and her husband, a medical doctor, regarding specific questions about health benefits of the products relative to them personally. She also handles general office interaction, particularly in the accounting department; there is no job in this office that she has not done at one time or another. She attributes her success to her commitment to whatever she tackles. She was not always the star athlete, but she always gave it her all, and she transfers that to the position now. She thinks of herself as a “plodder” willing to do what it takes to get the job done, no matter how long it takes. Ms. White surrounds herself with good people and knows that she is making a difference in the lives of others, and that inspires her to overcome any obstacles that stand in her way.
