An experienced financial and accounting professional, Ann Patterson has garnered 31 years of experience in the finance field. She is recognized for her financial management skills and lends her talents to the Ontario Association of Adult and Continuing Education School Board Administrators and Kohai Educational Centre.

Ms. Patterson always had a natural talent for working with numbers and was inspired by her father, a chartered accountant, to pursue a career in finance. Prior to becoming a freelance accountant, Ms. Patterson served as an accountant for the Canadian Bible Society, intermediate accountant for YMCA Canada and accounting manager for WoodGreen Community Services. She was also the senior financial analyst for HealthForceOntario. Her past positions exposed her to all facets of the financial and accounting sectors, and she became well versed in working with a diverse group of people. Ms. Patterson excelled at overseeing monthly financial statements, developing and implementing internal financial controls, providing analysis, and managing personnel.

In her current role, Ms. Patterson is responsible for overseeing accounting functions, such as financial reporting mechanisms, policies and processes, and examining financial records and transactions. She also ensures employees adhere to industry standards, corporate rules and regulatory requirements, and the accuracy and compliance to accounting standards, procedures and internal control, recommends improvements to accounting systems and management practices, develops and maintains cost findings, and reports on internal control procedures. She attributes her success to hard work and dedication.

Ms. Patterson earned a Bachelor of Arts in commerce and economics at the University of Toronto Scarborough, and became a CGA in 2005. She stays abreast of industry changes through her affiliation with the Canadian Association of Women Executives and Entrepreneurs, Financial Executives International Canada, and Canadian Federation of University Women.
