A highly regarded professional specializing in electrical engineering and managing civil and mechanical engineering, Joseph Mereb has established a lucrative career in the engineering industry. He has served in various positions throughout his 40-year career and draws on his skills and industry knowledge to manage and lead projects at DEASSAU.
Mr. Mereb joined DESSAU, an engineering and construction company, in 2009 as the department director of generation, and quickly became a well-respected leader. He became the project director of energy in 2012 where is tasked with managing all energy products, developing hydro projects, active stations, spillways, new projects and rehabilitation projects, concentrating on project management and development of new projects, responding to requests for proposals, meeting with the high management from hydro companies and private companies, and negotiating contracts.
Prior to attaining his current position, Mr. Mereb worked for Hydro-Quebec for 32 years. He served in various design, standardization and engineering management roles, and was responsible for generating station projects. Mr. Mereb also served as the Director of engineering at SEBJ, which is subsidiary of Hydro-Quebec.
Mr. Mereb’s strong leadership abilities and unmatched skill set have made him an invaluable asset to the company. He is passionate about his work and looks to continue growing in a professional capacity in years to come.
He earned a Master of Science in solid state physics at American University in Cairo, a concentrated executive diploma, and a bachelor’s degree in génie électrique at Cairo University. Mr. Mereb keeps abreast of changes in the field through his affiliation with the Order of Engineers de Quebec and Professional Engineers of British Columbia.
