Maurizio Capano parlays 16 years of experience into developing real estate as the vice president of operations for WAM Development Group. Calling upon his skills in strategic analysis, he oversees human resources, recruitment and retention, draft policy and provides initiative on continuous improvement. He helps develop and execute the firms’ vision while being mindful of the budget. In addition to negotiating, Mr. Capano serves as the construction lead for the ice district in Edmonton, which covers four million square feet of development area and 1.5 million square feet in office and residential properties.
Mr. Capano was selected to this position due to his hard work and mentorship. He holds an MBA from the University of Manitoba and is a certified project management professional from the Project Management Institute and certified as a professional engineer. The work throughout his career has been honored with the recognition of being one of the Top 40 Under 40 from Avenue Magazine. Originally setting out to be a project management engineer, he discovered his love for the business part more than the design aspect after graduating from school. In the coming years, Mr. Capano hopes to take his career and company to the next level, and aims to become the chief executive officer.
