William “Bill” Sheppard began his illustrious career working for Singapore Airlines in the ticket office as a reservations supervisor. He worked in that position for nearly four years before transitioning to a different aspect of the travel industry. He joined Best Travel Limited in 1986 an eventually purchased the business from its founder in 2001.
Mr. Sheppard, who has spent more than 30 years focusing on providing clients with travel services, established World Travellers New Zealand in 2009 with four other travel business owners. The travel agency is New Zealand’s only national cooperative travel organization that provides clients with a wide range of travel management and related services. Mr. Sheppard spends his days overseeing daily business operations, working with staff members and clients, and managing finances and marketing. He is really focused on developing the marketing and strategic side of the business in order to expand the company’s reach.
Mr. Sheppard has received ample recognition for his work in the field. The company earned the Unison Small-Medium Business Award from Westpac Hawke’s Bay Chamber of Commerce Business Awards in 2011, EIT Excellence in Professional Services Award from Hastings City Marketing Business Awards, and Franchise of the Year Award from Hastings City Marketing Business Awards, Farmgate Wines. Mr. Sheppard attributes his success to his passion for his work.
