Dr. Koehnke specializes in psychoacoustics and binaural and spatial hearing, and started her career as an audiologist. She joined Montclair State University in 2005 and, in less than a decade, has developed and sustained the audiology program at the university. After the only audiology doctoral program in the state of New Jersey closed, Dr. Koehnke decided that students needed a place where they could finish their education. The program has assisted countless students in attaining the necessary education in order to become involved in audiology. Prior to joining MSU, Dr. Koehnke served in a variety of roles at prominent educational institutions across the United States. She was an adjunct faculty member at Northeastern University, teaching fellow at Harvard University, adjunct assistant professor at Boston University and the University of New Hampshire, and visiting scientist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
