Ms. LaFollette Cross has received numerous TripAdvisor awards for her beautiful establishment, including being ranked as the 15th most romantic hotel in Canada. She believes she has been able to excel in her endeavors because she comes from a family of entrepreneurs. After spending 25 years working in the corporate world and 18 years operating six private training schools, Patricia Henderson wanted to change her lifestyle and realize her dream of running a luxury rural bed and breakfast. Ms. Henderson was influenced by her travels and made the decision to grow something with a Mediterranean theme, which how she got involved in lavender farming. She expanded to include olive and lemon groves and eventually got approval to build on the land. In 2006, Coatesville Lavender Hill – Luxury B&B officially opened and became a quaint and scenic place for weekend getaways and a prime location for weddings and events.
Ms. Henderson draws on her past experience and management skills to make the bed and breakfast a widely popular destination for tourists visiting from around the world. As the managing director, she is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the bed and breakfast and farming activities, greeting and receiving guests, ensuring that their rooms are ready, serving breakfast in the morning, ordering, doing inventory, and handling the manufacture of specialist products.
Aside from running the bed and breakfast, Ms. Henderson is getting involved in manufacturing soap and skin care and is deeply invested in horticulture, with lavender, rosemary, lemons and olives.
