Leon J. van Vuuren began his career at ESKOM Transmission, which lead to eight years in live work maintenance, two years in training and development, 13 years in training and development for distribution, and 14 years in training and maintenance contracting. Today, he utilizes the skills he learned from his previous work to serve as a live-work consultant, adviser, and maintenance contractor for a company that supports the implementation of on-the-job education and training for transmission, reticulation and distribution, to maintain medium voltages, high voltages, and extra-high voltages under live conditions. In his role, Mr. van Vuuren is responsible for ensuring the live work (C3M) duties are carried to compliance of the BSI PAS 99 certification to the common (integrated management system) specification requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 standards and other ISO and IEC standards. He thoroughly enjoys his work and believes the most gratifying aspect of his career was working in lead safety, health, environment, construction, and quality risk with the workforce using (C3M) live work in conjunction with integrated management system of BS PAS 99 (common management system of ISO standards).
