After answering an ad for a temporary position, Thomas Thayer found himself working in the oil and energy business. Mr. Thayer worked in the specialty contracting industry for over 23 years doing stream repairs, hot taps, line stops, portable field machining and torquing carbon fiber wraps, and eventually ventured out on his own. Today, he is the president of Plant Services, Inc., a contracting company that provides specialty contractor services and products for the petrochemical industry.
In his position for the past 11 years, Mr. Thayer ensures that customers receive the highest quality services. He takes great pride in his work and enjoys working with a diverse group of people. In his role, Mr. Thayer is responsible for providing customer development training, procedure development, and repair procedures. He believes he has been able to excel in his professional endeavors due to maintaining the principle of what he was hired to do and responding to customer needs. Looking toward the future, Mr. Thayer aims to expand the company’s capacity and region, as well as solidify its presence in the Panhandle Gulf Coast. He also intends to open more branches.
